Alabama women’s basketball coach Kristy Curry said she felt like her team won a baby pageant Thursday night. With nine freshmen and sophomores making up the majority of both teams, it was a battle of the youth, and Alabama came out on top with a 48-37 win in Foster Auditorium.
Curry wasn’t alone. Ole Miss coach Matt Insell felt the same way.
“We’re playing in this drooping league in a year that it’s really good, and we’re having to play with babies out there,” Insell said. “In a good way, not babies as crying babies, but they’re young.
