You can almost take it to the bank: Baltimore general manager Ozzie Newsome won’t get through an entire NFL Draft without picking an Alabama player.
Newsome didn’t disappoint on Saturday, grabbing Crimson Tide cornerback Anthony Averett in the fourth round and 118th overall. Newsome, a Tide great and NFL Hall of Fame tight end, is certainly known for bringing former ‘Bama players on board as the Ravens’ head man.
Averett played in the shadow of Minkah Fitzpatrick while in Tuscaloosa, yet gives Baltimore a very good cover corner with 4.38 speed.
