The offensive stars of the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons never took off in their NFL rivalry on Thursday night.
Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan threw three interceptions. New Orleans QB Drew Brees threw one, but he was picked off by linebacker Deion Jones in the end zone to seal the Falcons' 20-17 victory with 1:25 to play. The interception came on a second-down throw with the Saints in position to kick a game-tying field goal at the Atlanta 11-yard line.
Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones caught five passes for 98 yards. The former Foley High School and Alabama standout also made a tackle after Marshon Lattimore made an interception in the closing seconds of the first half and set sail for the end zone.
