The domino effect triggered by injured linebackers reached the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad on Friday and cost former Alabama standout Blake Sims his spot with the NFL team.
With linebacker De'Vondre Campbell nursing an ankle injury and linebacker Paul Worrilow out with a groin injury, the Falcons signed O'Brien Schofield on Thursday, bringing back a linebacker who started 11 games for Atlanta during the 2015 season.
To make room for Schofield on its 53-player active roster, Atlanta waived Terron Ward, the team's No. 3 running back behind Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.
When Ward cleared waivers on Friday, Atlanta re-signed him for its 10-player practice squad, waiving Sims to make room for the running back.
