For almost three quarters Saturday night the upset-minded Arkansas Razorbacks had Crimson Tide fans nervous inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
But when the bubble popped late in the third quarter, the Razorbacks could not stop the onslaught as eighth-ranked Alabama scored 24 points in the final 17 minutes for a 27-14 victory.
“Give kudos to Alabama,” Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema said. “They’re a good team and they proved it.”
Despite having its potent rushing attack throttled to just 44 hard-earned yards, Arkansas used an Alabama interception to take a surprising 7-3 halftime lead that held until the waning minutes of the third quarter.
