Arie Kouandjio returns to his original NFL team

Besieged by injuries to their offensive linemen, the Washington Redskins have brought back former Alabama All-American Arie Kouandjio.

The NFL team announced on Saturday that it had signed the guard for its active roster off the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.

An American Football Coaches Association All-American selection in 2014, Kouandjio joined Washington as a fourth-round draft choice in 2015. In two seasons with the Redskins, Kouandjio played in nine games and made two starts.

Washington released Kouandjio on Sept. 2, when it trimmed its roster from the 90-player preseason squad to the 53-man regular-season limit.
