For the third straight Pro Bowl, a rookie from Alabama is going to the NFL's annual all-star game.
On Thursday, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper joined the Pro Bowl roster as an injury replacement for New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall – earning the 100th all-star game selection for a former Crimson Tide player.
Cooper follows Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy in 2013 and Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley in 2014 as Crimson Tide players picked for the Pro Bowl as rookies.
Before those three, the only former Alabama player who had been picked for the Pro Bowl as a rookie was Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas in 1989.
