Sports history is filled with famous injuries, and today marks the anniversary of one of the more notable such instances in the annals of Alabama football.
On this date 52 years ago, Joe Namath injured his knee for the first time with the Crimson Tide. Namath's gimpy legs would in many ways define his football career, and all that began on Oct. 10, 1964, at Tuscaloosa's Denny Stadium.
