The first College Football Playoff rankings for 2017 will be released on Tuesday night, beginning a two-month long debate as to which teams should be in position to play for the national championship.
If history is any guide, the initial Top 25 won't look anything like the final rankings. Let's remember that Mississippi State was No. 1 in the first 2014 rankings (the Bulldogs finished 10-3), and Texas A&M was No. 4 to start things off last year (the Aggies ended up 8-5).
But propagating pointless college football arguments is kind of what we do around here.
