The first round of the 2017 NFL draft is in the books, and it was memorable in its own way.
There were trades, first-round reaches, surprising slides and special appearances by the Jack Links Sasquatch and Takkarist McKinley's late grandmother. For our purposes here at AL.com, there were also four Alabama players drafted, albeit not exactly when many had predicted or hoped.
Here are some impressions from the first day of the 2017 NFL draft:
Bama-less top 15: I'm sure Alabama fans had to be galled to see a number of 2016 Crimson Tide opponents -- Leonard Fournette, Myles Garrett, Deshaun Watson and John Ross among them -- come off the board before the first Alabama player did.
