Alabama's 'utter freak show' in line to start at defensive end

It was late in Alabama's blowout win over Mississippi State last season, a matchup between Raekwon Davis and Bulldogs right guard Ronald Cochran with Mississippi State facing a fourth down.

It was an embarrassing moment for Cochran and provided a glimpse of why a Power Five assistant coach once referred to Davis as an "utter freak show" during an interview with Fox Sports.

Once the ball was snapped, the Crimson Tide's 6-foot-7 defensive end quickly drove Cochran right back into quarterback Damian Williams. Davis then slammed Williams to the ground and made him fumble.

Now, Alabama will be depending on Davis to make plays like that more often.
