Former Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson was trying to help Deshaun Watson during a recent alleged incident at a Tuscaloosa bar, Anderson’s publicist Bob Broderick told TMZ Sports on Monday.
Broderick said Anderson told Watson that he should leave only to avoid further antagonizing patrons who were being hostile toward him. He also said Anderson offered to pick up Watson’s tab.
“Bottom line, Ryan didn’t ask Deshaun to leave,” Broderick said, “and they have since talked after the incident.”
Anderson was there with his cousin, former Alabama and current Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry, who also made the same suggestion for the same reason, Broderick said.
