Alabama’s run defense has historically been the key to a national championship under Nick Saban, here’s why

Before it can think about winning a national championship, there are some improvements needed to be made on defense for Alabama football. Of the aspects to get fixed, the Crimson Tide’s defensive front has to man up and stop the run game.

Through three games, Alabama has displayed its worst run defense of the Nick Saban era.

After matchups with Missouri, Texas A&M and Ole Miss, the Tide has allowed 151 yards rushing per game.

For an unranked Mississippi team, Lane Kiffin and his offense had two 100-yard rushers (Snoop Conner and Jerrion Ealy) on Alabama in a losing effort.
