Rachael Reddy was excited to get away and set out on her own, but maybe 790 miles was a little too far.
The University of Texas offered new experiences, new people and even a chance to see Bevo, the school’s longhorn mascot, but it was missing the most important thing in Reddy’s life — her family.
So the long-distance track and cross country runner from Mountain Brook, decided, after one year, to transfer to Alabama.
“I was only able to come home twice out of the year,” Reddy said.
Alabama assistant coach Adam Tribble had tried to recruit Reddy in high school.
