EUGENE, Ore. -- Alabama junior Quanesha Burks jumped 22 feet, ¾ inches on her second attempt in the long jump preliminary round to advance to Saturday's final at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials on Friday night at Hayward Field.

Burks' mark puts her in fourth place after the qualifying round. Defending Olympic champion and three-time world champion Brittney Reese leads with a jump of 23 feet, followed by Shakeela Saunders of Kentucky at 22-3 inches and Tianna Bartoletta, who jumped 22-2.
