INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | Alabama gymnastics' Kim Jacob was honored as one of 10 Division I finalist for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year at a banquet hosted by Jessica Mendoza at the Westin Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Ind., Sunday evening.
Now in its 25th year, the Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership. Jacob is the only gymnast among the top-30 and one of 10 finalist from NCAA Division I schools.
The National Woman Athlete of the Year and NCAA Division I Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior, Jacob was joined at the banquet by former UA head gymnastics coach Sarah Patterson, current head coach Dana Duckworth, senior associate athletics director Marie Robbins and assistant director of athletics student services Fern Hampton.
