ATLANTA — Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen’s postseason awards dominance continued Thursday night.
Allen, a senior, won the Bednarik Award, which is presented annually to college football’s defensive player of the year. He is the first Alabama player to win the award.
“It’s just a blessing to be in this opportunity, I just try to do it the right and set a good example,” Allen said. “I just remember growing up, I would always look up to these guys and just wish I could be them one day to work towards that. To say that I’m a Bednarik Award winner?
