Alabama's defense is proving it can score, too

Jordan Ta'amu faked the handoff and then turned his eyes toward receiver A.J. Brown, who angled his body toward the middle of the field.

Converging on Brown was a crowd of three Alabama defenders, waiting to devour him. It didn't matter. Ta'amu, channeling his inner Wile E. Coyote, fired anyway and the outcome predictably was disaster.

Alabama safety Xavier McKinney jumped the slant route, snagged the ball and raced 30 yards to the end zone for the Crimson Tide's final touchdown on a night when the No. 1 team in the land shredded the Rebels, 62-7, during a cartoonish romp.
