Alabama offensive tackle Cam Robinson is facing a felony weapons charge after he and safety Laurence “Hootie” Jones were arrested early Tuesday morning in their hometown of Monroe, La.
Ouachita Parish jail records show Jones and Robinson were arrested on marijuana and weapons charges at 2:33 a.m. Central time. Both have been released.
The arresting officer wrote in his probable cause affidavit that as he approached Jones and Robinson in their vehicle at a Monroe park, he noticed a strong odor of marijuana, then saw a gun on Jones’ lap. After the two were removed from the car, the officer wrote that he “found a bag of marijuana in plain view on the front drivers floorboard and a stolen handgun under the seat.
