When the first quarter came to a close Alabama found itself in the unfamiliar position of trailing. In the huddle, the Crimson Tide had to decide how it was going to respond to its first test of the season.
“These are the learning points that you don’t get from those other games,” senior Nikki Hegstetter said. “You can’t simulate that kind of pressure in practice.”
During the first three games of the season the Crimson Tide (4-0) managed to put away its opponents early. It also finished each game scoring 90 points with ease.
Georgia State refused to follow the trend.
