Alabama women fall to LSU in SEC Tournament

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The 12th-seeded Alabama women’s basketball team fell to 13th-seeded LSU on Wednesday 58-49 in Veterans Memorial Coliseum in first round action at the SEC Tournament.

Sophomore Meoshonti Knight led Alabama (15-15) in scoring with 15 points. She was followed by sophomore Quanetria Bolton with 12 points. Sophomore Hannah Cook led the Tide in rebounds with nine boards, while sophomore Karyla Middlebrook led in assists with four. LSU junior Alexis Hyder led all scorers with 20 points in addition to nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.

“I think you have to credit LSU on a day like today,” said Alabama head coach Kristy Curry.
