The Crimson Tide women's basketball team earned a spot in the 2016 Women's National Invitation Tournament and will travel to New Orleans to compete against Tulane on Wednesday, March 16. Tip off will be announced Tuesday.
Alabama (15-15) was awarded an at-large bid Monday. The Tide was one of 34 teams to receive such big, joining 30 other automatic berths. Tulane also received an at-large bid.
Tulane (21-11) most recently competed in the American Athletic Conference semifinals. The Green Wave lost 74-54 against Memphis.
This marks the Tide's fifth appearance in the WNIT in program history -- its first since 2011.
