Alabama football lost a talented wide receiver to the NCAA transfer portal this week.
On Thursday, Joshua Lanier entered his name in. The Tuscaloosa native was a skilled walk-on who transferred in from the University of North Alabama. An alumnus of Tuscaloosa Academy, Lanier arrived on campus in 2019. He did not play his first season, but his efforts in practice caught the attention of coaches. The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder earned time in seven games last year as a contributor on special teams. He currently has both an SEC Championship and a CFP National Championship ring.
During the Crimson Tide’s spring game, he totaled two receptions for 10 yards.
