For the second straight season, Alabama and Clemson will play each other in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
The meeting will be the first national championship rematch in consecutive seasons in college football history after the Crimson Tide defeated the Tigers 45-40 in last year’s national title game.
Alabama (14-0) enters the game on a 26-game winning streak and would become the first-ever FBS team to go 15-0 in a season with a victory. It also would mark the Crimson Tide’s fifth national championship in eight seasons – all of which has come under coach Nick Saban.
