Alabama’s defense is down its green dot communicator with Deontae Lawson done for the year.
Lawson, a junior inside linebacker, suffered a leg injury in the first half versus Oklahoma.
The Mobile (Ala.) native did not return to action as the Crimson Tide suffered a 3-24 loss last week in Norman, Okla. According to Kalen DeBoer, the Tide’s leader at middle linebacker is out for the Iron Bowl. Lawson’s season comes to an end with 76 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble. His injury leads to Jihaad Campbell needing to step up as the communicator on defense.
