The powerful top of the Tennessee lineup delivered a heavy blow against the University of Alabama in the first inning on Friday night. The Crimson Tide used the rest of the night to retake control.
Alabama fell behind 3-0 in the first before rallying to beat Tennessee 7-3 in the SEC opener at Sewell-Thomas Stadium before an announced crowd of 5,867.
"The first inning, they're on every pitch. A couple doubles and a homer and it looks like the wheels are falling off," Tide coach Mitch Gaspard said.
