This will be his first season playing football at the University of Alabama, should a season be played, but Carl Tucker is already getting preseason award recognition.
According to an announcement from the Friends of John Mackey via New York on Friday, the graduate transfer from North Carolina has been named to the John Mackey Award watch list.
The honor is presented annually to college football’s most outstanding tight end, and it is voted on by the John Mackey Award Selection Committee. As a native of Concord, N.C., Tucker played in 38 career games for the Tar Heels from 2016 to 2019.
