Alabama swimming takes aim at NCAA championships

Spring break is over. All the students are back in Tuscaloosa, except the members of the University of Alabama swim team.

They never went anywhere. While everybody else was slurping slick oysters in Apalachicola Bay, the swim team was sweating in the gym. Spring-breakers had late nights at the Flora-Bama, but the swim team racked out early to rest and getting up early to hit the pool for practice again and again.

But that’s what it takes to hold on to a top-10 national ranking heading into the 2016 NCAA swimming and diving championships, which starts today at the McAuley Aquatic Center at Georgia Tech’s campus in Atlanta.
