Alabama’s bye week gave the Crimson Tide a little more time to figure out what it will do without Eddie Jackson.
But on Monday, at least some questions still seemed to remain about what it will do without the star senior safety.
Since Jackson was lost for the season with a fractured left leg sustained in a 33-14 win Oct. 22 against Texas A&M, junior Hootie Jones, sophomore Minkah Fitzpatrick and junior Tony Brown all appear to be his most likely replacements.
Different defensive packages, though, may call for different personnel.
Alabama coach Nick Saban said Fitzpatrick, usually a cornerback or Star (nickel back) with the Tide’s first-team defense, has seen time at safety in practice since Jackson’s injury.
