Alabama will be without one of its top defensive players for a while.
Starting cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered a broken foot against Arkansas on Saturday and is out indefinitely, Nick Saban announced Monday.
Saban first learned about the injury on Sunday.
It's a big loss for the Crimson Tide.
In his first season as a starter, Diggs had been establishing himself as one of the SEC's top cornerbacks. Through six games, the junior has 20 tackles, an interception and a team-high six pass breakups.
It's also the latest blow for the Alabama secondary, which had already lost two backups to season-ending injuries -- cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis and safety Daniel Wright.
