Alabama Sports Hall of Fame 2016 class includes several with UA ties

On Wednesday, the State of Alabama Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2016 induction class, and five of the eight have ties to the University of Alabama.

The Class of 2016 includes James Brooks (football), David Cutcliffe (coaching), Jim Fulmer (basketball), Oscar Gamble (baseball), Martha Jones Lang (golf), Chris Samuels (football), Calvin Smith (track and field) and Andrew Toney (basketball) and brings the total of all Inductees since 1969 to 336.

Samuels was a consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC at Alabama. He won the Outland Trophy as the nation's best college interior lineman and was a six-time NFL Pro Bowl selection.
