From 10 yards and in, University of Alabama kicker Adam Griffith is all but a sure bet. He’s never tried a field goal from that distance, but on extra points, he’s made 62 of 63.
It’s everything longer than that that seems to be a problem. Griffith fell to 0-for-4 on field goals this season in Alabama’s 37-10 win over Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, missing kicks from 24 and 49 yards out.
“I think a lot of these kinds of things are mental, confidence, psychological disposition,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said.
