The No. 6 University of Alabama softball team closed out a record setting weekend in the Tuscaloosa Regional at Rhoads Stadium with a major win earlier this afternoon.
Alabama opened its NCAA Regional play on Thursday, May 14 with an 8-0 shutout victory over the Fairfield Stags (25-22) in six innings, advancing to play the Washington Huskies on Saturday. Washington had a similar struggle against the Crimson Tide offense who secured a second shutout against the Huskies with 3 homers and 9 total runs on Saturday. Freshman pitcher Alexis Osorio was just one hit away from throwing a perfect game.
