The game was not easy for Alabama softball. Both teams got hot starts. In the first inning, both Alabama and Auburn got two runs off two-out hits, with Alabama’s coming off Bailey Hemphill’s home run. Auburn responded and took the lead with a two-run home run in the fifth, but Alabama came right back with three runs. Two of the fifth-inning runs came off an Elissa Brown 2 RBI double. The insurance run in the sixth secured the win for Alabama.
Implications
The win gives a little more security that Alabama will come out a national seed in the NCAA Tournament, which means they would host a regional.
