Alabama Softball Advances To WCWS In Oklahoma City

Stop me if you’ve heard this before – Alexis Osorio and Paige Parker got the start in the circle, both teams started slow, and Alabama softball scored first.

The game was scoreless through 3.5 innings, thanks in large part to Alabama center fielder Haylie McCleney. McCleney reached over the wall to steal what would’ve been a 2-run HR and then made an impressive diving catch to record an out on what would’ve been a 2-RBI single.

The Tide went up 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th when a Chaunsey Bell single brought in Haylie McCleney. Oklahoma responded in the top of the 5th on a two-run homerun by Lauren Chamberlain, who padded her own lead with a solo shot in the 6th.
