The Cleveland Browns tried to trade for AJ McCarron during the 2017 NFL season. Cleveland's front office botched the execution of the deal and missed the NFL trade deadline, leaving the former Alabama standout as the backup quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals instead of the starter for the Browns.
But on March 14, McCarron will become an unrestricted free agent, able to sign with any NFL team.
The Browns were willing to give up draft choices in the second and third rounds to obtain McCarron. Is Cleveland still interested now that it can get the quarterback without giving up any compensation?
