The soup bowl that is Bryant-Denny Stadium is the site of Alabama's first of two August scrimmages Saturday afternoon. It's about 93 degrees as the action got started around 1 p.m.

-- The big news was the arrival of freshman linebacker Ale Kaho. The former five-star recruit who was at Washington left Seattle last week. He had to start the five-practice acclimation period so he was in helmet and shorts without pads. Kaho went through the drills at the end of the line as he learns the Alabama practice routine.
