During the 2017 NFL season, 122 players with Alabama football roots got on the field during regular-season games. For 22 of them, it was their first NFL action, and three of them made the All-Rookie team.
Alabama's high schools and colleges also produced 10 Player of the Week Award winners, nine Pro Bowlers and one Super Bowl champion during the NFL's 2017 campaign.
More than one-third of the state's players were Alabama alumni with the Crimson Tide getting 43 former players into NFL games this season. Auburn had 30 alumni play in 2017, with five of the state's contingent coming from UAB, four from West Alabama, three each from Samford and Troy, two from Alabama State and one apiece from Alabama A&M, Jacksonville State, North Alabama, South Alabama and Stillman.
