Bryce Young missed Alabama’s first scrimmage of fall practice, and it gave Mac Jones and Paul Tyson an opportunity to demonstrate what they can do offensively.
He normally does not share quarterback stats from a scrimmage, but Nick Saban apparently had a change of heart on Saturday.
The six-time national champion told reporters that Jones, a redshirt junior, tossed for three touchdowns at Bryant-Denny Stadium. He completed 21 of 36 pass attempts and though most would see 58.3 percent as a poor completion clip, one must take into account of Alabama not having spring practice.
