People had sentimental questions for Bryce Young in Monday’s press conference, but the Alabama quarterback provided a positive update on his throwing shoulder heading into the Iron Bowl.
Young and the Crimson Tide’s offense struggled in 2021 at Jordan-Hare Stadium; however, the former five-star used the final possession to take Alabama down the field in 12 plays (97 yards) for a game-tying touchdown.
Young found wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks for a 28-yard score to tie the game at 10.
The Tide earned a 24-22 victory in overtime, and Young became the program’s first signal-caller to win the Heisman Memorial Trophy.
