Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is a preseason candidate for several awards.
The junior from California has been named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watchlist. The honor, named after Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Johnny Unitas, goes to the nation’s top upperclassman quarterback in college football.
It recognizes a player’s accomplishments on the field, and their character, academic achievements, and leadership qualities off the field. The A.O. Smith Corporation presents the Golden Arm Award, and Young is one of 76 candidates for the award. He set Alabama’s single-season school record for passing yards (4,872), touchdown passes (47), and total touchdowns (50) as a sophomore in 2021.
