- The holiday season is approaching, but University of Alabama men's basketball coach Avery Johnson wants to make sure that celebration occurs in the proper time and place.
The Crimson Tide is coming off an impressive tournament appearance in Orlando last week when, for the first time in a decade, it posted consecutive wins over ranked opponents, defeating Wichita State and Notre Dame. Johnson said his team was understandably excited — but has to return to earth before Friday's road game against winless Southern Mississippi.
“Every game we play is going to be a dogfight,” Johnson said on Thursday.
