Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry may soon become immortalized at Alabama.
Crimson Tide athletic director Bill Battle said in a statement Wednesday that that plans are in the works to build statues for both of the Heisman Trophy-winning running backs.
“We’re working on a project and a plan that we hope to complete soon, and we hope to take it to the Board and the President,” Battle said. “But, at this time, this is in the early stages.”
According to the plan, the statues would be built on the school’s Walk of Champions outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium, which already features statues of all five of its national championship-winning coaches: Nick Saban, Gene Stallings, Paul “Bear” Bryant, Frank Thomas and Wallace Wade.
