Alabama has Jonah Williams, a former California high school star, starting at left tackle this season, and the Tide could have another Californian starting at tackle in a few years in Tommy Brown.

Brown (6 feet 6, 313 pounds), from perennial power Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, committed to Alabama on Friday. He announced his decision on Twitter.

Brown is considered one of the top-15 offensive tackles in the nation, as well as a national top-175 prospect overall.

He also has offers from, among others, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame and Oregon.

Brown is Alabama’s seventh commitment and the first from an offensive lineman.
