Alabama offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor was found not guilty of driving under the influence Tuesday morning, The Tuscaloosa News reported. The ruling was made in Tuscaloosa Municipal Court.
Taylor was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident in July.
Taylor’s attorney, Jason Neff, spoke with the newspaper after the ruling was announced.
“Of course I am pleased with this verdict,” Neff said. “I hope Mr. Taylor will have an opportunity to move forward with his football career.”
Taylor called Tuscaloosa Police on the morning of his arrest on July 17 after hitting a parked vehicle at The Woodlands apartment complex on the 1100 block of East Hargrove Road in Tuscaloosa.
