College football programs offering non-high schoolers doesn’t come as much surprise anymore.
Drew Pyne, an eighth-grade quarterback from New Canaan, Connecticut, became just the latest example of that after receiving an offer from Alabama on Friday.
At 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, Pyne, a class of 2020 prospect, already has good size entering his freshman year of high school this fall. He is slated to play at New Canaan High School in his hometown.
Pyne already had offers from Florida State, South Alabama and South Carolina.
According to 247Sports, Alabama offensive tackles/tight ends coach Mario Cristobal is Pyne’s primary recruiter; offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Lane Kiffin is his secondary recruiter.
