ALABAMA NOTEBOOK: Run-option plays drawing attention

The officials could look at the replay and see that Ole Miss quarterback was behind the line of scrimmage when he threw a 73-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter on the Crimson Tide secondary Saturday night. They could also see Rebel offensive lineman Jordan Sims almost five yards beyond the line of scrimmage on the play.

But while the former could be reviewed, the latter could not.

“We work on these plays, we should cover them,” University of Alabama coach Nick Saban said on Wednesday. “We know what the rules are, and we have to execute and do it correctly, which we did not.
