Quarterback AJ McCarron played more than expected in the Cincinnati Bengals' final preseason game on Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts.
With Andy Dalton and the rest of the Cincinnati starters held out of the game, McCarron played the first two offensive series for the Bengals, which ended with a lost fumble and a field goal, and then headed for the sidelines, too.
But the Bengals' third-team QB, Jeff Driskel, suffered a thumb injury during his only series on the field. McCarron was back under center the next time that Cincinnati got the ball and went the rest of the way.
