Buffalo quarterback AJ McCarron threw a touchdown pass with 13 seconds remaining to lift the Bills to a 28-27 victory over the Chicago Bears in an NFL preseason game on Thursday night.
McCarron threw three touchdown passes and ran for a TD as Buffalo overcame a 27-3 deficit in the final period.
McCarron began training camp competing with Nathan Peterman and Josh Allen to become the Bills' starting quarterback. But the former St. Paul's standout suffered a shoulder injury in Buffalo's second preseason game that caused him to miss last week's contest.
Against the Bears, Peterman and Allen sat while McCarron went all the way under center.
