Alabama LB Shaun Dion Hamilton making steady progress in return from ACL tear

Alabama linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton appears to be at least on schedule in returning from a torn ACL in time for the start of the 2017 season.

Hamilton’s father, Shelton Hamilton, told BamaOnLine that the linebacker was cleared last Wednesday by team doctor Lyle Cain to “start doing field-type activities.”

Hamilton’s goal, his father said, is to return from a torn ACL like Adrian Peterson did when he suffered the injury, along with a torn MCL, in December 2011. During the following season in 2012, Peterson rushed for 2,097 yards for the Minnesota Vikings – nine yards shy of breaking the NFL’s single-season rushing record.
